1. BWU Organized Strategic Planning Workshop

From September 27-30 2007, BWU organized a 'Strategic Planning Workshop' facilitated by Mitos Urgel from WEAVE and about 30 women from BWU attended. In the workshop, revisited the aims and objectives, programs, every leaders and members role and responsibilities, readjust BWU structure, missions, values, and focus goals and as to have accountability and responsibility, we realized that we should have clear structure and responsibility. Therefore, we decided to adjust those things.

After the workshop, BWU has come up with the following values such as women’s active participation (in political, social and economic), preservation of women’s rights and equality , women’s empowerment , non-discrimination/work with others in diversity regardless of: Nationality/ ethnicity/ religion/ political background/ disability/ sexual preference/ marital status/ age / educational level, democracy and freedom, mutual respect, tolerance, recognition and appreciation of each other’s individuality and acceptance of constructive criticism, enhance the spirit of teamwork (collectively), and Accountability, responsible actions and transparency and BWU focus goals are to enhance the role of women participation in the politics, to advocate Women’s Rights and Gender Equality and women’s empowerment and capacity building.
